Tomas Tech Advances Thailand’s Decarbonization Through AZEC ― MOU Signed by Three Companies and One University

At the 3rd AZEC (Asia Zero Emission Community) Ministerial Meeting held on October 17, 2025, Tomas Tech Co., Ltd., together with YN2-Tech Co., Ltd., Kyokko Electric Co., Ltd., and the Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the standardization of precise CO₂ emission measurement for decarbonization. Through industry-academia-government collaboration, the MOU aims to build a reliable foundation for CO₂ emission measurement across Asia.

Background ― The Need for Accurate CO₂ Measurement in Asia

Across Asia, the energy transition and industrial decarbonization have become urgent priorities on the path to carbon neutrality (CN). However, many of the sensor devices in common use today do not offer sufficient accuracy to measure CO₂ emissions automatically and precisely, making it difficult to evaluate reduction results objectively.

To address this, the MOU aims to establish a “measurement standardization framework” through industry-academia-government collaboration and to promote cooperation among AZEC member countries. Only with accurate measurement can the progress toward reduction targets be visualized and decarbonization made truly effective.

Overview of the MOU ― Advancing Measurement Technology and Establishing Evaluation Standards

The objective of this agreement is to improve and standardize the accuracy of CO₂ emission measurement technology. The project will be carried out under the following structure.

Participating OrganizationMain Role
Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI)Evaluation of measurement technology and academic support; joint research with students and researchers
YN2-TechProvision of device and data-management technology for industrial applications
Kyokko ElectricDevelopment of high-precision CO₂ sensors and proof of concept for wattXplorer integration
Tomas TechData visualization and energy-saving analysis through PEGASUS, using IoT and wattXplorer

Tomas Tech’s Role ― Becoming a Decarbonization Hub in the Thai Market

Using wattXplorer, Tomas Tech visualizes the energy consumption and CO₂ emissions of factories and facilities, and provides end-to-end support from identifying bottlenecks to proposing improvements and supporting implementation. Turning measured data into clear visibility, and connecting it to on-site energy-saving measures, is the value Tomas Tech delivers.

In addition, through its collaboration with the Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology, Tomas Tech is advancing the following initiatives:

  • Promoting clean technologies and eco-solutions with the university as a base
  • Sharing AZEC information with the Thai government and industry, and strengthening its function as a technology-introduction hub
  • Providing educational programs that develop the next generation of decarbonization talent among students and young engineers

Announcement at the AZEC Ministerial Meeting and the Path Ahead

The MOU was officially announced at the AZEC Ministerial Meeting and drew strong interest from government officials and participating companies in both Japan and Thailand. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of “accurate emission measurement” and the direction of “technology standardization through industry-academia collaboration,” and a roadmap for future joint development was confirmed.

Guided by the AZEC philosophy of “One Goal, Various Pathways,” Tomas Tech will continue to provide practical and effective decarbonization support centered on Thailand.
