From the President and CEO: “Where We Stand and Our Next Moves”

The meeting opened with a session by President and CEO Ryo Nozaki titled “Where We Stand and Our Next Moves”, reviewing progress on the two challenges declared at last year’s annual meeting.

The first was expanding from IT and OT into a third domain, FA (factory automation). Enquiries have grown in areas that address labour shortages on manufacturing and logistics sites, such as AMRs (autonomous mobile robots) and robotic palletising, and projects are now moving into implementation. The second was establishing a subsidiary in Vietnam. Registration and recruitment have progressed, while full-scale market development remains the task ahead. Plans and results were shared side by side.

On that basis, the CEO set out the company’s direction for 2026: hand over tasks such as emails, proposals, meeting minutes and progress tracking to AI so that people can return their time to the work only people can do — talking with customers and aligning requirements — and complete an ERP that gathers the company’s information in one place as the foundation for this.

The Risks and Use of AI: Set the Rules, Then Get Hands-On

In the following session, our AI engineer covered “The Risks and Use of AI”. After outlining where agentic AI stands today and what AI can do, the session explained the risks of using AI at work with concrete examples: information leakage, hallucination (plausible-sounding errors), prompt injection and over-reliance.

A draft set of internal AI usage rules was also shared, and everyone confirmed principles such as “when in doubt, do not enter confidential information” and “a person checks AI output, and the person who gave the instruction is responsible for it”. In the second half, every participant opened a laptop and used AI to draft a proposal in a hands-on exercise.

Pegasus ERP Overview and Live AI Demonstrations

The head of our administration department presented our in-house ERP, “Pegasus ERP”: why information is gathered in one place, what the system can do, and the three things to start entering from the next day. Using the actual screens, the session walked through the single flow from customer registration to deals, quotations, sales orders, purchase requests and purchase orders.

In “Practical AI Examples and Demos”, an engineer demonstrated, on live screens, the automation that runs inside the company every day. Seeing working systems rather than slides gave each participant a starting point for thinking about where AI could be applied in their own work.

Tomas Way Award and Icebreaker

In the wrap-up session, the company announced the “Tomas Way Award”, which recognises employees who embody our code of conduct, the “Tomas Way”, as chosen by a vote of all employees. The top five were honoured.

For the icebreaker, we played “Human Bingo”. The cards included squares based on the day’s seminar content — such as “someone who can explain what a hallucination is” or “someone who can name at least two types of information that must not be entered into AI” — and participants collected signatures across departments while reviewing what they had learned.

Dinner Party

After the seminar, a dinner party with a lucky draw gave members who usually work at different sites and in different departments a chance to get to know one another.

Looking Ahead

TOMAS TECH will continue to expand its FA business, consolidate information around the ERP, connect to the OT domain through IoT, and strengthen its existing IT domain. Across the company, we will put into practice the three commitments shared at the meeting: gather information in the ERP, route reporting through AI, and start by using AI for one task in your own work.
